Paul R. Connon

Paul’s chartered accountancy path commenced in 1974 as an audit junior and he gained a great deal of audit experience during his progression to audit supervisor while working on a number of Boral Ltd’s many subsidiaries. With a new firm in 1981 Paul gained experience in tax and accounting, and also completed the auditing service for several local sporting clubs. In 1985 Paul joined a practice that specialised in local government audits, commenced postgraduate study and became qualified as a local government auditor.
Paul joined W.W. Vick & Co in 1990 as a partner. Since that time, Paul’s audit accomplishments have seen him manage and control many audit assignments for clients throughout New South Wales.
Paul attended the round table discussions held by the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) in July 2007 and August 2008 on the Reporting Entity Concept. Paul regularly attends the Australian Equivalents to Financial Reporting Standards (A-IFRS) Discussion Group, put on by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia on a quarterly basis. Paul also assists with interviewing students for the Young Achievers Program run by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia to encourage new students to the chartered accounting profession. W.W. Vick & Co. employs one of these students for two to six weeks each year.

- Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting, Finance and Systems from the University of New South Wales
